Terms and conditions
General conduct. We are bound by a professional code of conduct, which means Your instructor must be polite, courteous, tidy and punctual at all times.
The car will be fitted with dual controls and fully insured for driving tuition and tests. This must also apply to the pupil, a good conduct at all times, any threats of violence to the instructor will forfeit all monies and loss of driving lessons. It is also important to know that the pupil must not in any way show threats of any kind the test examiner, if so the pupil could be charged with this offence and may not be able to use that test centre again. Also sitting a test-driving or theory for another person is punishable by a prison sentence, fine and a criminal record.
QUALIFICACTIONS; we are fully licensed instructors by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) to give driving tuition and pass Plus.
Driving License. You must hold a current valid provisional, full of international license and produce it to the instructor before you can legally drive in one of our cars.
Payments. Please note that payments must be made in advance of your lesson. If you book a course of lessons, they MUST be paid for upfront.
Any advanced payments made mean that you are contracted to take those lessons. If you ask for a refund none will be given unless you have unusual circumstances, then only 50% will be paid back for any remaining lessons.
Lesson cancellation. A minimum of 48 hours must be given to cancel a lesson or lessons or you will be charged for the full lesson. If you re-book your cancelled lesson in the same week you will not be charged for the lesson (providing we can fit you in).
Booking your driving test. You can book your driving test on the national booking office via the Internet or by telephone. Any test booked MUST be confirmed to your instructor before booking or Drake cannot guarantee a car for the test. You must use your instructors ADI number when booking your test to stop double bookings, your instructor will give you his / her ADI number, (Approved driving instructors number).
Drake reserves the right to postpone a lesson if they feel it necessary due to adverse or dangerous weather conditions. If over 50% of a lesson has gone by and the weather turns bad we will not refund the remaining costs, the same will apply if the car used for tuition develops a fault during the test or lesson and is unsafe or not able to be driven.
Drake reserve the right to with hold your test if the instructor feel that you’re driving is unsafe or not up the required standard on the day to take the test.
Drake will NOT take out any pupils if the instructor thinks the pupil has been drinking / hung over or under the influence of drugs.
10 working days notice must be given to the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) for a cancellation of a test or you will lose your fee, this does not include weekends. Drake cannot be held responsible for the DSA cancelling a test, but we will help to get your money back if another test has not been booked for you as a replacement.
